The Game Zone Hotel Project
For this boutique hotel project, I wanted to create a hotel that will capture a lot of children and
families. Due to my observation of the large population of people interested in video games, I
decided to come up with a video game themed boutique hotel. According to my research, about
90 percent of children play video games. 41.5 percent women and 58.5 percent men. Video
games offers players lots of fun and entertainment and also a sense of accomplishment. I came
up with the name “The Game Zone” to give people an idea that this hotel will give a good
experience of the world of gaming. This hotel expresses a very futuristic, synthetic-reality,
imaginative, immersive, and interactive aesthetic. The amenities in the hotel consists of rooms
with consoles, games and hookups, an area where you play with video game arcades, Go-kart
ride area with tracks that has a design look of a track from a video game, and a VR room to play
different virtual reality games which will be very intriguing to customers. For my concept, I
wanted to create a logo that expresses a very imaginative, futuristic, and nostalgia aesthetic so I
designed a joystick arcade that was used a lot in the 70s with matches well with the nostalgia
aesthetic and I used a typeface called “all rounded gothic” and use colors like purple, pink,
black, light blue to express the futuristic look. For the customers, I designed clothing
merchandise that they could wear while their spend their time at the hotel.
